Witcher Writing Staff Unveils Medallions Able To Detect Fans Of Source Material

The Witcher’s writing team today proudly introduced their own version of the legendary Witcher medallion. Designed to prevent contact with fans of the source material, these custom-made pendants vibrate when they sense that danger is near.

“They help keep us safe,” said Emma Collins, a contributing writer for the latest season of the hit Netflix show. Security had reportedly become a concern after Laura Schiff, the executive producer for the show, had an unexpected run-in with a fan of the books earlier that month. “It really scared her. He asked her a question and she didn’t know how to respond so she just played dead until he left. Definitely a close call.”

Asked about the symbol on the pendant, Ms. Collins said that the team tossed around several ideas before finally settling on the current design. “Calibration was the tricky part. We needed something uber-sensitive that convulsed violently at the slightest contact with anything remotely unpleasant. One of us joked that maybe it should be shaped like a testicle,” added Collins, noting hat the idea was then quickly discarded. “We’re trying to smash the patriarchy, not wear it around our necks.”

Instead, the team settled on a well-known symbol of female strength and empowerment: the Karen.

“It’s worked out great so far,” said Bridget Garza, another staff writer. “We haven’t had to interact with a single fan in the past 10 months. School of the Karen for the win!” And while she is grateful for her newfound peace of mind, Garza did mention that there had been some minor drawbacks as well. “Unfortunately we can’t get anywhere near Sapkowski’s books either. Our medallions are violently allergic to them.”

Asked how this impacted the writing process for the new season, Garza simply replied: “Not very much. They’re only here for decoration, anyway.”

The Witcher Season 4 is slated for release sometime in 2025 although no specific date has been set.
